Jane Foster's Walnut Creek Studio and Vogue 8817

“Anyone who has a chance to study with Jane Foster is very lucky.
Jane combines the perfect blend of teaching ability
and knowledge of exquisite sewing technique
with the talent to model great design."

Recently I received an email from Jane Foster
with photos of what she and the women in one of her classes
had done with Vogue 8817.
I want to share them with you.

Jane screened polka dots on front and back.

Lark used a Marcy Tilton screen
to soften the plain knit at the neckline.

Vicki used embroidery floss
to work running stitch circles on the yoke.

Ellen cut out circles,
fused them on with Steam-a-Seam
and added stitching.

Jeanne created two versions!

Jeanne couched copper cord onto the yoke
to create better color near her face.

Cathy combined some of the 50 shades of grey.

All you amazing creatives
continue to dazzle me with your innovations
and interpretations of my patterns!
Many thanks and much appreciation.

Ms. Tilton!!!! ;) heehee, i just picked up your and sister Marcy's Ultimate Tee class a few days ago and have been watching it obsessively...for the amazing amount of complete-confidence-inducing information, yes, but also for your wry sense of humor. Very Entertaining! and liberating to see your 'live dangerously' approach to sewing, and your 'well, we can do it over' attitude when things don't turn out just so. Perfect for beginners, to avoid many 'shoulds' and also worries about perfection. Massive Recommend!

And this has made up my mind to see if there's any way i can get some time over at Ms. Foster's studio. I live in Pleasant Hill, next town over to Walnut Creek, but money's tight. But i figure i'll contact Ms. Foster to see if she ever has open houses and/or drop in classes. The contact i've had with other sempstresses strictly over the internet has been such a boon, creatively and technically, that i just can't not find a way!

Don't know if i can convince mr. e we need to make a pilgrimage up to the Art Barn, but he loves him some rural and is a sucker for critters - Vasco's pretty charismatic!

Happy Day all and thank you Katherine, Jane Foster, and the 'Foster Ladies' for sharing!! steph
